As part of a service test request, characteristics are used to define context around the required service test. The Fibre Cafe uses the following enumerated set for the service test API - not all service characteristics are supported by all suppliers.

| EQUIPMENT_TYPE | The equipment type where the problem is experienced | This is mandatory if PROBLEM_TYPE is CPE |
