# Introduction for Tenants

Tenants are Communication Service Providers, Managed Service Providers and Wholesalers who wish to order and maintain
services on the Fibre Cafe with a number of different AltNet/Connectivity Providers or Wholesalers (known as Suppliers).
Tenants will integrate with the Tenant API in order to perform pre-order checks (availability, appointing), place orders,
request service tests and raise service problems.

To receive updates, tenants must implement the Tenant Updates API which the Fibre Cafe will integrate with to send KCIs. Whilst pre-order checks are synchronous, most other operations are asynchronous and rely on this API in order to confirm or reject requests.
