# Suppliers

## Introduction for Suppliers

Suppliers are AltNet/Connectivity Providers who wish to make their fibre services available on the Fibre Cafe for Communication Service Providers (Tenants). In order for tenants to perform pre-order checks (availability, appointing) and to place orders, suppliers must either implement the Supplier API or have a [custom connector](/pages/suppliers/suppliercustom) to their existing API.

To send order updates, suppliers must integrate with the Supplier Updates API which the Fibre Cafe provides to send KCIs to tenants. Whilst pre-order checks are synchronous, order operations can be asynchronous and rely on this API in order to confirm or reject requests.
